Aiming to the operating energy consumption and energy saving potential of circulating pumps, selects 15 air-source heat pump heating system cases in Beijing rural area to test their performance for a period of 60 days. Typical day (daily average outdoor temperature is -6, 0 and 6 respectively) test results show that the power consumption ratio of circulating pumps is 0.05 to 0.35, and the actual electricity consumption to transferred heat quantity ratio (EHR) of circulating pumps is 0.030 to 0.145, which is far more than its design value and limit value, with a great potential of energy saving. The circulating pump controlled by the unit in fixed frequency heat pump system and the circulating pump adopting variable speed control based on the supply and return water temperature difference in variable frequency heat pump system can significantly reduce the power consumption ratio and the EHR of circulating pumps and save energy.
